START

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Successful Team Approach for Reentry Transition (START) is designed to improve the quality of life and reduce recidivism for adults transitioning from the correctional system who have a substance abuse or co-occurring disorders.

INTERVENTION

The START intervention begins in custody. Activities at this point include a group orientation and assessment. Then begins the transition and reentry planning, documented in individualized reentry plan and focused on providing housing stability immediately upon reentry

Once participants are out of custody, START will provide the following services:

  • Treatment groups, including Anger Management, Thinking for a Change, and Seeking Safety
  • Case management and linkage to services
  • Aftercare services for up to six months after program completion
