Route Descriptions and GPS Links

100 MILE

This is your century route option! It will take you through San Juan Bautista via Moss Landing and San Juan Grade. The century follows wonderful back roads, farmlands, redwood forests and ocean views in Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties. An amazing route that hugs the coast and has some challenging climbs! Starting time is 7 am.

65 MILE

The 65 mile route parallels the century as far as the second pit stop. From there it travels through the beautiful rolling hills of Northern Monterey County among artichokes and strawberries and apple orchards, rejoining the century ride in Aromas for lunch. This route has moderate climbs. Start time is 8 am.

30 MILE

This fun route hugs the coastline from The Boardwalk to Seacliff. It has beautiful coastal views, a couple easy to moderate climbs and two rest stops. Starting time is 8:30 am.

12 MILE

Easy route for the beginner! NO BIG HILLS! Ride from the Santa Cruz County Courthouse to Capitola Village and back. Fun for cyclists of all skill levels. Ride a beach cruiser, a tandem, your Burning man art bike or a fixie! Wear a costume! Tell everyone to come ride: family, friends, and co-workers! Come ride with various Santa Cruz celebrities!!!

Training Calendar – To Be Announced

When
Training rides are every Saturday morning until the event, starting July 29, 2017.

How far
Increasing mileages each week to train for 30, 65, and 100 mile routes. Training Ride Leaders will assist you on the road. No one is left behind!

Where
Each ride will start at a local Santa Cruz area bike shop. They will provide breakfast snacks and coffee from The Ugly Mug, OPEN EARLY, give an in-store discount, and are sending out an employee to help lead the rides.

These Bike Shops = EPIC INVOLVEMENT
Their participation brings the cycling community together for this event and this cause!

Come Be A Part Of This Community
This group grows every year. It is a very welcoming atmosphere with a positive vibe! It is a great way to meet friendly local cyclists who are committed to fighting HIV/AIDS. You will also get in shape!

Some Logistics

  • Helmets ARE required!
  • Bring two full water bottles, 2 energy bars, and tire patch kit.
  • Please eat breakfast before riding!
  • A road bike / hybrid is suggested for longer rides, but not required.
