Encompass Community Services earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation

Santa Cruz, CA — July 29 2019 — CARF International announced that Encompass Community Services has received a three-year accreditation for its outpatient and residential treatment programs for mental health and substance use disorders.

This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to Encompass Community Services.

The Three-Year Accreditation decision represents the longest duration of accreditation given to an organization and demonstrates the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has provided evidence to a team of surveyors through a multi-day on-site visit that the programs and services it offers are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Encompass Community Services is a not-for-profit organization with offices and program locations throughout Santa Cruz County. Encompass has provided care and treatment for individuals and families with mental health needs and substance use disorders since 1973.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services. For more information about the accreditation process, please visit the CARF website at www.carf.org.
