Thank you for considering a donation to Encompass Community Services. Your generosity helps us not only deliver essential care, but also empower lives, strengthen families, and build a healthier, more equitable Santa Cruz County.
For more than 50 years, Encompass has remained committed to providing children, youth, teens, adults, and families across Santa Cruz County with access to the high-quality services they need to live a long, healthy life. From early education to substance use recovery, mental health counseling, and housing support, Encompass delivers vital services that not only stabilize lives but help people truly thrive.
At Encompass, we believe in walking alongside our clients as they navigate life’s challenges. Thanks to you, we’ve made remarkable progress this year.
2025 Year in Review: Milestones That Matter
Because of your commitment, we’ve been able to deepen our impact and bring compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services to even more Santa Cruz County residents in need.
- ASCEND program – together with the County Office of Education and police departments across the County, we started a youth diversion program that provides an alternative to the juvenile justice system for youth (12-17) which includes family intervention, substance use and mental health support, mentoring, and life skills training.
- Peer Support Expansion - we grew our team of Peer Counselors—individuals who have experienced and sustained recovery themselves—to walk side-by-side with clients beginning their recovery journey. These peers provide more than encouragement: they attend appointments, lead support groups, and serve as an example of what long-term recovery can look like.
- MAT + ALTO Integration: we successfully integrated Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) services into our ALTO behavioral health counseling programs in both North and South County. This holistic approach helps clients not only reduce substance use, but addresses trauma, mental health, and overall wellness with dignity and care.
- ReTurn Project: we’ve expanded services to justice-involved individuals by offering in-custody case management, mental health counseling and referrals for MAT treatment and substance use disorder treatment with continued support upon release. These services help people reclaim their lives, improve long-term health, and reduce recidivism rates in our community.
- Families Together: this program is making a difference through group counseling, wraparound services, and trauma-informed care for children with justice-involved parents or those struggling with substance use. We’re helping parents and caregivers build skills, repair relationships, and better support their children’s lives.
- Si Se Puede Capital project – we’ve made incredible progress on the construction of our new Si Se Puede outpatient and residential center scheduled to open next year. The new center will allow us to serve more transition age youth and adult clients annually in South County.
Your Gift Fuels This Work
Whether it’s a group therapy session, a bus pass, or a lifeline during recovery, your support creates real change. Every gift—large or small—makes a difference.

FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS: Your donation helps us develop our own childcare and early education program for working families in Santa Cruz County. With the recent transition of our Early Head Start and Head Start grant, we plan to evolve our early education services to best meet the community's need for toddler and infant care. Your contribution can help us develop and fund this local program.
FOR YOUTH: Your donation helps Encompass provide services to at-risk youth and teens through mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and ongoing peer support at a critical and formative time in their lives.
FOR YOUNG ADULTS: Your contribution can help foster youth learn to live independently, find work, and transition successfully into adulthood. The Encompass Thrive Hive is a drop-in center for youth aged 16-24 – a place to shower, learn how to cook, borrow clothing for job interviews, do laundry, and receive counseling services and support from our Encompass staff.
FOR FAMILIES: You can make an impact on Santa Cruz County families with justice-involved parents or those struggling with substance use through family counseling services and support to keep families together and children cared for.
FOR ADULTS: Your donation can truly help save someone’s life. Whether it’s a bus pass for a client to go to a doctor’s appointment, a hygiene kit to help an unhoused community member, new linens and pantry items for our residential recovery program, or life-saving medications for addiction treatment, your dollars make a difference.
