Encompass is excited to announce Mitali Weiglein as our new Chief Programs Officer (CPO), responsible for overseeing the delivery of services across Encompass' 20+ programs.
Mitali brings nearly two decades of experience in health care systems implementation, process improvement, and program management. With 18 years of operational leadership experience, she has consistently delivered mission-driven results and worked to ensure underserved members of our community have access to high-quality health care services.
As a first-generation immigrant and person of color, Mitali describes herself as a sociologist at heart. She believes deeply that improving the social determinants of health is essential to creating equity for our entire community — a philosophy that aligns strongly with Encompass’ mission and values. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.
Mitali holds a Master’s in Health Administration and earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is also engaged in the local community, currently serving on the Santa Cruz County Disabilities Commission, the Community Advisory Council for North Santa Cruz County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area), and the Scotts Valley Unified School District Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lisa Russell, who came out of retirement last fall to serve once again as our Chief Programs Officer during a pivotal time for our organization. Lisa’s steady leadership and institutional knowledge helped guide Encompass through the Head Start transition, and we are deeply thankful for her willingness to step in and support our teams when we needed it most.
Please join us in welcoming Mitali to the team and in thanking Lisa for her outstanding service.
