It's National Health Center Week!

Encompass is honored to join our partners across the county and country in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW) this August 7-13! NHCW is a week for health centers all over the country to connect, share their accomplishments, and hold space for future community health goals. Community health centers are champions of the American Healthcare system, lifting up and supporting their community’s well-being every day and Encompass is overjoyed to be included. Read on to hear more about NHCW...

National Health Center Week

Health is not just something we get at the doctor's office. Behavioral healthcare that centers individual's mental, social and emotional health is also critical to individual's whole health and well-being. Encompass provides vital health and human services that are focused on addressing the conditions in which people in the community live so that everyone has the benefit of a long, healthy life. We provide a range of services from residential and outpatient treatment to family therapy—all in an atmosphere of dignity and respect where our clients can thrive. We are so pleased that our county recognizes behavioral health care as a critical piece of the health puzzle and are honored to participate alongside our partners in celebrating this event.

We often think of our minds and bodies as separate, but in reality, they are inextricably linked with a reciprocal relationship of health. When our bodies are healthy, our minds have a head start on health and vice versa. Just like diabetes or hypertension, substance use disorder (SUD) and mental illness require ongoing care and support from medical and behavioral health experts. Encompass’ unique array of services allow for clients to have a completely comprehensive treatment journey. Justice-involved individuals may access therapy through our Re-Turn project while also accessing our in-custody SUD counseling services. A client stepping down from one of our residential treatment programs may find housing in one of our Sober Living Environments. Families have access to care throughout their child’s lifetime with our Head Start, Youth Services, and Transition-Age Youth programs.

With the complexity of our daily lives, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we all deserve access to high quality, individualized behavioral health care. This week and every week, Encompass strives to provide accessible care that meets the specific needs of our community. We are grateful to be a part of such a wonderful group of organizations serving Santa Cruz County and the rest of the week we will be using our platforms to highlight the accomplishments of our fellow health centers!
