Encompass Community Services is thrilled to announce the appointment of Shellee Stopera as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over three decades of leadership in health and human services, Ms. Stopera brings a deep commitment to community-based care and a proven track record of innovation, collaboration, and strategic growth.

Ms. Stopera joins Encompass at a pivotal moment, as the organization looks to expand services, strengthen partnerships, and continue advancing its mission of improving the health and well-being of youth, adults, and families in Santa Cruz County. Her extensive background in health and human services —coupled with her strong business acumen—makes her the right leader to guide Encompass into its next chapter.

Throughout her career, Ms. Stopera has held C-level roles such as CEO, COO, and Vice President in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Her leadership has spanned departments and disciplines, with a focus on operations, finance, revenue development, and program innovation. She is known for her ability to build strong partnerships, cultivate staff engagement, and deliver meaningful, lasting impact to the communities she serves.
